On July 21, PigCHAMP sponsored the 4th annual Story County Pork Producers Youth Grill-Off. This grill-off was held at the Story County Fairgrounds in Nevada, IA. This is a great opportunity for local 4-H and FFA Chapters to learn how to properly prepare pork.

Donna and Jayne kicked off the busy fall and winter agricultural show season with a trip to Minnesota for the annual Alan D. Leman Swine Conference, hosted by the University of Minnesota September 19-22. They were busy showing off the new features of PigCHAMP (download available now for all customers) and connecting with industry colleagues and friends.

Bright and early , Donna and I went to a farm for a visit, in order for me to see how they implement the device in their daily production. Shaun took us through each of his barns and all I can say is WOW, his pigs are perfect!! He showed me how he enters the data directly in the farrowing barn, and I was amazed at how quickly it was done. He even took a picture of me and Donna in our white overalls and I even had bright pink flip flops. So much fun!

Wow! The people working at PigCHAMP head office really are the best of the best. We started out the day with a meeting where I was able to meet all of them and get to know each one a bit better.

Donna and Jayne sure are busy. Long days at the Japfa Comfeed farm, coupled with 2-3 hours of commuting to and from Ho Chi Minh City, mean that they don't always have time to write about their day's experiences... but I usually do get some photos!
